Aerogel, the World's Lightest Solid

Aerogel, the fantastically light (and fantastically expensive) material made famous by its use as insulation in NASA spacecraft like the Mars Rover.

I know this has been around for ages but take a look at the video if you haven’t heard about it before.

Since it is 99.8% air, it appears semi-transparent.
